The idea is to simplify the name to 'Bengal,' a suggestion that has been lingering for a while now. It's believed that a shorter name will help the state achieve better positioning in alphabetical lists, potentially bringing more attention and resources. The decision is, however, yet to be finalized by the central government. This is a significant step for Bengal and I, like many, eagerly await the outcome.
