Microsoft Surface has LTE version 2 to $ 679
As hard as it is to believe, Microsoft has so far not had a 3G/4G tablet Surface. But we knew it would come eventually: the company said it was working on a LTE Surface 2 and, in fact, recently surfaced (it har) in the FCC documents. Now that it is finally here: Microsoft has announced that the LTE Surface 2 will go on sale tomorrow, and will support the AT & T 4G network here in the U.S.
In total, will sell for $ 679 U.S. dollars with 64GB built-in storage. That’s a premium of $ 130 over the 64GB WiFi, if you’re paying attention, you would pay the same premium for a cell in a WiFi iPad.
Happily, the Surface 2 free of any contractual agreement. The big trick, of course, is that you need a micro-SIM from AT & T: the tablet supports LTE 4, 7 and 17 bands, along with 3G UMTS (bands 1, 2 and 5) and old normal GSM (800/900 / 1800/1900MHz).
In any case, you can find the Surface 2 with LTE tomorrow at Microsoft stores, MicrosoftStore.com and Best Buy (but not AT & T stores, curiously). Oh, and what about all those promotions Microsoft was offering surface again when the two first released?
They still apply five months later in this release LTE. That means you can have 200 GB of free storage OneDrive for two years and one year of calls to landlines and unlimited WiFi Skype calls.
