Spain has Supercomputing forefront
In the war of humanity against the most deadly diseases, supercomputers are a valuable tool and in Spain, a sample is the Consolider Ingenio 2010 project.
Supercomputing and signature eCiencia-SyeC-charge of the project, provided the main scientific results, which puts Spain in a leading international position in supercomputing.
From 2007-2013, this project, coordinated by the BSC-CNS has had the participation of 21 research groups with a total of 350 scientists. The Ministry provided $ 5 million.
Spain is a member of the largest supercomputing initiative internationally, PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe), which Spanish researchers have allocated 437 million hours.
