The drones ready to meet infarcts
The idea is based on an invention of Definetz association, which has created a small drone (drone streamlined and managed by remote control) capable of carrying a defibrillator quickly to rural or difficult to access.
A company of the German city of Bielefeld has created a system of small drones loaded with a defibrillator, which aims to rapidly assist the victims of heart attack even in the most remote corners of Germany.
These devices, drones are being used so far to take aerial photographs or to inspect possible damage to skyscrapers and bridges, but in the future they could also save lives.
It is estimated that each year 100,000 people die of a sudden heart attack in Germany, Friedrich Nolle, the Definetz association, said during the presentation of the prototype.
With this technology, the victim of a heart attack or find someone who could close call drone through a special application for smartphone. Upon receiving the call, the system locates the emergency and the patient guided by GPS is addressed Nolle said.
However, this requires that in case of an emergency there is someone who has the application, otherwise, the call could be made from the position of the nearest emergency services, which would direct the drone to the required place.
When the unit arrives on the scene, a small parachute launches the defibrillator, which automatically turns on and gives instructions on how to use it to whoever is near the victim.
