Prime Air drones to deliver goods
Amazon, the biggest online store in the world, surprised the virtual community with the announcement that, in the short term, be able to distribute some of the thousands of items sold by drones or “drones”.
Amazon will offer its “Prime Air” service with unmanned parcels delivered to buyers aircraft in thirty minutes. The drones, packages may take up to two kilograms, accounting for 86% of deliveries the company does.
So far, FedEx has been and continues to pioneer technology. It has its own fleet of trucks and aircraft, manned all that distributes packages worldwide. Patrick Fitzgerald, vice president of FedEx says he does not care deliverers drones.
By far, the rapid growth of packet distribution is a result of e-commerce, which has tripled since 2005 headed by Amazon.com. The drones could be delivered within 15 miles from a dispatch center.
