There is no ban on video games in China
They have approved the plan for the marketing of consoles in the country. The ban on such devices was established 13 years ago, however game developers will have to set up operations within the free trade zone of Shanghai.
In 2000 the Chinese government began banning sales of consoles concerned about the violent content of some of the titles developed on other continents and how that content could influence the child population.
During the 2013 the government began to consider the possibility of lifting the ban, provided that violent video games do not contain content that may affect the mental health of children.
Months after these considerations, the Chinese government has finally approved lifting the ban, according to a statement posted on its website.
However, the only condition to consider is that game developers will have to set up operations within the free trade zone of Shanghai, in the same area where it was announced this week that Facebook, Twitter and other Internet will be available.
