The company was awarded the Global Mobile Awards 2012 in Barcelona as the best application. It was created in 2009 by American Brian Acton and Ukrainian Jan Koum, both former employees of Yahoo Inc.
The initial idea was to design prefabricated posts, only for iPhone, votes against the impossibility of answering a call, with phrases like “Do not call me” or “I’m working” and it was the only application focused solely on instant messaging.
Because of its height, telephone operators have low earnings in the corresponding text messages. But it is not free, but cheap money: users must pay an annual dollar after a year of free service.
